Digbeth Arts Market x Baked in Brick

Digbeth Arts Market is extremely proud to announce our involvement in creating a range of incredible collages for one of the most anticipated restaurant launches of the year, the amazing Baked in Brick!

The 3 fantastic artists involved are our founder Kay Fisher of Koo Arts, Adam Wynn of Rip It Up Start Again and Michelle Bowden of Coquillage Design.

Our 3 maestros have spent the last month secretly perfecting their magnificent collages to fit around that stunning red mini bursting through the walls, mastering those dramatic wall cracks and creating works full of style and personality on the surrounding walls.

Lee asked Kay to create the collages by the mini to represent places important to him on his journey to opening his first restaurant after years of hard work excelling at award-winning street food. The cities depicted include Birmingham, Liverpool and Sheffield.

I love the Digbeth homage on the right with those new Custard Factory resident flamingos and the front of the new Baked in Brick restaurant adorned with that famous sign. You have no idea how many times Kay had to resize these iconic images to fill such a big space.

For this project we were extremely excited to welcome the exceptional analogue collage artist Adam Wynn into our community and everyone is ecstatic at the pieces he has created.

Adam states that his collages are always personal themes, but the inspiration behind them is often kept secret so that the viewer can find their own connection and narrative. I love that approach!

Adam's personal favourite which is not one of the current four pieces on display is this wonderful piece.

Gaze upon this surreal, retro masterpiece as you wolf down the best pizza and street food in Brum.

Lee's restaurant is opening very soon and you should look out for the tester evenings that begin Wednesday 27th June. Check out the Baked in Brick Instagram for more details.

Another fantastic DAM artist to add her brilliant work to Baked in Brick is ROOTS0121 with her terrific design for the staff t-shirts.

Important! Digbeth Arts Market is going to have a permanent gallery space inside Baked in Brick. You can apply to have your work exhibited by contacting us at digbethartsmarket@gmail.com
